ABOUT THIS POSITION

Brightworks Sustainability is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Analyst to join our team. This role supports a wide range of sustainability and green building certification projects by performing analysis, documentation, and coordination tasks. Typical work includes implementing and managing certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED rating systems, as well as other sustainability frameworks and programs.

The Project Analyst will collaborate closely with client project teams and internal consultants to ensure successful project delivery. The position reports to a Senior Consultant and provides support across multiple active projects.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare, maintain and submit green building certification documentation under the supervision of senior team members. Analyze and interpret data as needed. Identify trends and opportunities to streamline documentation efforts.
  • Lead regular LEED Contractor check-in calls. Engage with design and construction teams throughout all project phases under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Perform materials research, coordinate specification review, and provide Division 1 Sustainability specification sections.
  • Complete submittal reviews during construction phase to determine whether selected products meet the project's sustainability requirements as outlined in the specifications.
  • Review project drawings and specifications for green building compliance.
  • Perform analyses to evaluate project performance (e.g., indoor water use) against third-party standard sustainability metrics.
  • Review draft deliverables completed by Coordinators, including drawings reviews, specification reviews, LEED Online documentation, meeting minutes, and other work as needed.
  • Compile meeting minutes and track ongoing documentation.
  • Train Coordinators and answer questions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of green building and sustainability certification programs and timelines.
  • Knowledge and competency using project delivery software (Bluebeam, LEEDOnline, etc.)
  • Knowledge and competency reading drawings and specifications, product documentation (SDS, product certifications).

Education Requirement

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., engineering, architecture, construction management, environmental science, sustainability, planning, or related disciplines. Relevant coursework or internships in sustainability, green building, or project management.

Experience Required

1-3 years of experience in a complementary field of green building or sustainability project management.

JOB DETAILS

Classification: Full-time, non-exempt

Compensation: The hourly rate range for this position in Portland, Oregon is $34.83 - $40.48.

Starting pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, external market value, internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Starting pay offers will typically be made in the bottom half of the listed range. In compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Acts, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.

Location: The preferred location for this position is Brightworks’ headquarters office in the Pearl District in Portland, OR. Brightworks’ offices in Los Angeles, Oakland, or New York City may be considered.

Office Schedule: Brightworks offers hybrid work schedules of 3 office days and 2 work-from-home days per week.

This position is not eligible to work fully remote.
